I flooded my students with information today and I'm not sure that was such a good thing. I decided to cover point-slope form before Standard Form because I was hopeful that when we cover Standard Form and they are given a point and slope or two points they will be able to work through and simply have to convert to Standard Form. So we'd been using slope-intercept form for about three weeks now except I hadn't explicitly told my students the name of the form. I had students work examples writing linear equations and that was pretty easy for them. So because I thought slope-intercept form wasn't going to be very difficult I decided to also do point-slope form as well during the same class (90 mins) and my students were drained when we got to the end of point-slope (which I got from here and just put into a word document here). I was also hoping we would have enough time for a dice activity for picking two ordered pairs that I pulled from math=love. My students understand but need plenty of practice so I plan on doing that one tomorrow.
